Engineer, teacher, writer, and curious builder.

My work moves between technical education and creative production, but the underlying habit is consistent: understand complicated systems, build something with that understanding, and explain the result clearly.

I am an engineer and college educator with graduate training in engineering and experience teaching physics, programming, electronics, robotics, and design. I care about technical accuracy, but I also care about making technical ideas accessible enough that someone can act on them.

Outside the classroom, I develop software and games, work on electronics and fabrication projects, and write hard science fiction. These activities reinforce one another. Teaching improves how I explain fictional technology. Engineering improves how I design game systems. Writing improves how I communicate technical work as a sequence of human decisions rather than a list of facts.

The personal brand

The simplest expression of the brand is:

That statement is an umbrella rather than a restriction. It leaves room for education, engineering, software, game development, science-fiction writing, travel, and life abroad, provided each subject is approached through the same perspective: curiosity, technical clarity, experimentation, and honest documentation.

Why document the work?

Much of the useful knowledge in a project exists before the finished result. It appears in the rejected design, the debugging process, the uncertainty about what to attempt next, and the explanation that finally makes a difficult concept click. The journal is intended to preserve those intermediate steps.
